I saw this blog challenge around the Internet that I thought would be a fun challenge for me this summer! It’s called the A-Z Challenge and each post I make has to feature a topic with all of the letters of the alphabet so today for example the blog post is A for Adventure and I will be talking about the current adventure that I’m on and next week will be B is for …… and so on and so forth. I hope you enjoy! But if not that’s okay, I like it.
A is for Adventure and if this is your first time visiting my blog WELCOME! You should know that I just moved to Italy for the summer! I am living with a host family as an au pair and so far I am loving it. I seriously eat pasta everyday… sometimes two or three times a day! I’m in heaven!
I have only been here for about 3 days and already I’ve settled into a comfortable lifestyle. I am living with a family of 5. My host mom is an Orthodontist, my host dad is a Gynaecologist, they have two girls ages 10 and 8 and a young boy who is only 4! I have days and weekends free. I pick up the girls from school at 4:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and take them to swimming and dance classes where we pick up gelato or pizza for an afternoon snack! Then we head back to the house for a wonderful homemade dinner! On Tuesday’s I pick up a 10 year old girl who is a friend of the family and play and work on English from 6:00-8:00 pm. On Thursday’s I take the littlest one to rugby practice!
I couldn’t have asked for a better family to stay with. They organize tours for me and are constantly showing me around Rome and introducing me to new foods! If you are interested in au pairing I would highly recommend the site I used: www.aupairworld.com
During my time in Europe I hope to see all of the major sites in Italy. But towards the end of my trip I will have free time to explore wherever I wish. I am hoping to spend a couple of days in Krakow, Poland to tour Auschwitz and Schindler’s Factory. I am going to visit family in London at the end of July and would like to see either Paris or Greece before London.
This is an adventure of a lifetime and even though I’ve only been here a few days, I would recommend it to anyone. Rome is amazing and I can’t wait for the rest of the adventure
